    Travel & Transfers

Granada Airport is the closest and convenient to get to Capileira. There are international flights to Granada from London, as well as connections through other Spanish cities such as Madrid and Barcelona.

From Granada, you can take the bus directly to Capileira (3 departures per day, 2.5h). Alternatively, you can fly to Malaga Airport, which has more connections from the rest of the UK and throughout Europe and travel by bus to Granada (approximately 4.5h in total).

By train, Granada is connected by rail to many other major Spanish cities such as Almeria (3h), Cordoba (3h), Ronda (2.5h), Seville and Madrid (4h).

    FAQs

We suggest you make your reservation as soon as possible, as soon as you have decided your travel dates, as this destination is extremely popular and accommodation sells out quickly.

This route has a moderate to strenuous level of difficulty. The walks last between 3 and 8 hours, between 10 and 17 kilometres long and are travelled through mountainous terrain, and on a mixture of unpaved roads, animal trails and, in some sectors, pavement or smaller asphalted roads.

Part of the terrain is quite rocky and, in the wet season, you may encounter loose rocks or muddy stretches. The ascents are between 415 and 930 metres and with descents of up to 870 metres.

During the summer months (June to September), walking can be more difficult because at that time, the highest temperatures of the year are recorded, so we recommend departing early on those days.

Yes, it's included. We will transfer the luggage between each accommodation according to your itinerary. Each person can take a suitcase up to 20 kg (45 lbs).

You can start this tour any day between March and June (subject to availability), and then again from September to November. The spring months of March and April are fantastic if you want to see bird migration in full swing and a profusion of flowers in bloom.

Temperatures start to rise in May and June and the slopes are full of colourful butterflies and bee-eating birds. We do not offer this tour in July and August, as the temperatures are very high and prevent you from enjoying a pleasant walk.

We will send you the information dossier after your reservation. This has a detailed list of equipment that includes standard walking clothing, such as good walking shoes or boots, waterproof clothing and a light backpack.

This holiday is available to solo walkers, but we recommend that you should be experienced, and familiar with navigational instruments, having walked before in rough and mountainous terrain and comfortable with steep ascents/descents and some slopes.
