Being 550 metres above sea level, Tarbena offers an ideal climate for walking, in addition, it is rich in wildlife, full of history and is located in rugged mountainous terrain with beautiful views of the Mediterranean Sea and diversity of landscapes: moors, pine forests and orchards of oranges, lemons; almonds, olives and carob trees.
Walking through Alicante, you will have the option to choose between nine routes, some easier and others more challenging, between 6 and 16 kilometres.

Day 1 - Arrival in Tarbena
From Alicante Airport, the transfer will be made to Tarbena. Weather permitting, you can explore the village, located in the Sierra del Ferrer, or take the time to take a short walk and start exploring the region.

Day 2 - Enjoy your day in the Arab Castle 4 miles I 7 km
Tarbena – Arab Castle – Iberian settlement – Tarbena
This circular route begins with an ascent to the ruins of Tarbena Castle, also known as Castell del Moros. It is an Arab citadel, built in the 12th century, and being on top of Cerro de Santa Barbara is the perfect way to start to relate to the surrounding mountains and valley terrain that you will travel during the next days on your travels.

It will be a walk through the Sierra de Aixorta, lush in vegetation and rocky terrain. The landscape is made up of a mixture of pine forests, fruit orchards and almond trees. You will get to know the imposing rocky arches in the Sierra de Serrella and the Pas Tancat ravine.
