Itinerary
Day 1 - Arrival in Dobbiaco
Dobbiaco is a small town in the province of Bolzano, in the Trentino Alto Adige region and is close to the most important peaks in the Dolomites. It is known as "the gate to the Dolomites" because from the town, you can enjoy a beautiful panorama of the Three Peaks.
The town is located in the Val Pusteria, called "Green Valley", between the strategic position of the routes connecting Venice with the Bavarian region of Germany. Enjoy this city divided into two parts: the old part, rising to 1,256 metres, and the new part that arose at the beginning of the 20th century in the area of the train station, right in the area of the mountain peaks.

FAQs
Is luggage transfer included? What are the luggage requirements?
Absolutely! Each traveller has included 1 piece of luggage that we will transfer between your accommodations. It's important that this piece of luggage meets the following criterias:
- Maximum weight of 45 lbs (20 kg).
- Must be only 1 piece of luggage without any attachments or accessories.
- Should not contain valuables, fragile items, food or medications.
- Must be correctly identified (booking reference of your trip and the full name of the trip holder).
How far in advance should I book my trip?
We suggest you make the reservation as soon as possible, as soon as you have decided your travel dates as this destination is extremely popular and accommodation sells out quickly.
What should my physical preparation be?
The Italian Dolomites, with their more than 1,000 km of trails, are considered the mecca for highly experienced walkers. Ideal if you are a lover of food, wine, flora and fauna, and if you are looking for opportunities for bird watching, swimming, enjoying high peaks and routes in lakes and rivers.
The forest paths and trails are varied and well signposted, both those located at high altitude, and those in the lower valleys. There are moderate ascents on most days and long descents on days when a cable car is used to gain altitude.
Walkers must have a good fitness level and have confidence on uneven terrain.
If you're afraid of heights, a couple of suggested walks may not be right for you, however, there are many other possible options. Cable cars can come into operation if, in an unlikely case, there is extreme bad weather.
Walking boots are essential and we recommend carrying walking sticks. On some of the walks at higher altitudes, there may be snow at the beginning or end of the season.
Is it suitable for solo walkers?
This holiday is available to solo walkers and groups. There is no minimum group size, however, transfers are subject to at least 4 people (in total) booked on each departure. This holiday is not suitable for children.
What is the best time of year to travel this route?
You can start this holiday any time of the year, however we recommend enjoying it between June and September.
