Day 1 - Arrival in Sagres
When you arrive at your spectacular accommodation in the seaside town of Sagres, enjoy a delicious dinner and a pleasant rest in its comfortable rooms.

Day 2 - Sagres to Pedralva 14,3 miles | 23 km
At the start of the day, you will have an inclusive transfer from Sagres to Vila do Bispo. There, you can start your walk along the fishermen's trail, a path full of pine trees and cliffs that will take you to the amazing Amado Beach, a famous surfing spot.

Afterwards, you can have lunch in the village of Carrapateira where its bars and restaurants offer countless options to indulge yourself. Explore this historic village and don't miss The Land and Sea Museum, where you will learn about fishing traditions and its economy.

Before heading to your new accommodation, you will visit the Rota Vicentina, pass by a spectacular viewpoint, and discover an unmissable trail through the Sinceira Valley.

Day 3 - Enjoy your day at Amado Beach 12 miles | 19 km
This is a day to enjoy the tranquillity and admire the beauty of this wonderful destination's landscapes. 

Today you will walk to Amado Beach, a beautiful beach that stretches across three valleys. It is ideal for surfing due to its versatile and large waves, which is why national and international surfing championships are held here. 

On the way there you'll find a trail located at the top of a spectacular cliff. 

When you arrive, you can relax in the different rest areas and enjoy the views of the landscape dominated by warm colours. 

Also, if you wish, you can take this day to stay in the village of Pedralva and visit the cosy and traditional coloured houses that characterise the place.

Day 4 - Pedralva to Vila do Bispo 11 miles | 18 km
Today you have two paths that you can travel on, both spectacular. Leaving the Rota Vicentina, you will find a path full of meadows and flowers that guide you and accompany you to the new village of Vila do Bispo.

If you choose the longest path, you can observe a wonderful horseshoe loop that will take you to the Vicentina Coast Natural Park, Praia da Barriga and its incredible cliffs where you can enjoy your picnic and the best view.

Day 5 - Enjoy your day in Vila Do Bispo 5,5 miles | 9 km
Today you will walk to the cliffs and viewpoints above Vila do Bispo until you reach Torre da Aspa, an obelisk located at the highest point of the Vicentina coast, from where you will get beautiful views of the water currents.

Also, if you do not wish to walk, you can visit the beautiful city of Lagos. You can get there by bus. This city is surrounded by 14th-century walls, whose architecture is worth admiring and not to be missed. You will see the ornate churches dating back to the 13th century and discover the treasures in every street.

This is one of the best days of your trip, as you will walk to the edge of the continent at Cabo de Sao Vicente, the most south-westerly point in Europe. You will enjoy the incredible coastal scenery, flora-covered meadows and sandy paths adorned with nature's most beautiful colours.

You will be able to take back wonderful memories of these sights with you, as you will encounter a lighthouse, a museum and a bar that offer you the most beautiful places to take pictures. After an included transfer from Cabo de Sao Vicente, you will arrive in Sagres, where you will finish this enchanting walking tour.

Travel & transfers

The best way to get to Sagres is to take a plane to Faro International Airport.

From the city of Faro you have the possibility to take a bus operated by "Flixbus" to the city of Lagos. From there you can choose to take a bus operated by "Vamus" or take a taxi with an estimated time of 35 minutes to Sagres.

Another option is to fly to Portela Airport (Lisbon) and from there you can travel by bus to Sagres.

At the end of your hiking trip we recommend flying from Faro International Airport or Portela Airport (Lisbon).

Is luggage transfer included? What are the luggage requirements?
Absolutely! Each traveller has included 1 piece of luggage that we will transfer between your accommodations. It's important that this piece of luggage meets the following criterias:
  • Maximum weight of 45 lbs (20 kg).
  • Must be only 1 piece of luggage without any attachments or accessories.
  • Should not contain valuables, fragile items, food or medications.
  • Must be correctly identified (booking reference of your trip and the full name of the trip holder).

Will I have a different route every day?
On this holiday, we will give you maps and route suggestions for each day. It's up to you how much you want to walk, and how much you want to explore, so that the trip fits your needs and expectations.
How many hotels will I stay in?
This is a route with stays in several hotels, each giving you a different experience from views of the Atlantic Ocean and a variety of outdoor activities. However, depending on your preference, additional days can be scheduled at the hotels you want.
What walking equipment should I bring?
We suggest you wear light, quick-drying clothes, comfortable boots and a pair of shoes to rest. In addition, we recommend carrying a second smaller backpack that you can bring each day to carry water, sunscreen, cap, sunglasses, documents, some food and cash.
How difficult is this walking holiday?
