Day 1 - Arrival in Annascaul
This beautiful County Kerry town is located very close to the Slieve Mish Mountains and features plenty of archaeological remains and stone constructions.
After you arrive, you are free to explore the places of interest closest to you: sit back and watch the sunset over Dingle Bay, McGillicuddy Reeks and the Ring of Kerry.

Day 2 - Annascaul to Dingle 14,2 miles | 22,8 km
Start this spectacular walk heading to the Iveragh Peninsula. There, you will discover the ivy-covered ruins of Minard Castle, a fortress built by the Knight of Kerry in the 16th century. Although not open to the public for safety reasons, observing the landscape is really worth it.
Continue the tour to the village of Lispole where you can visit the church and shops in the village that grew around the bridge over the River Owenalondrig. Also get to know the parishes of Kinard (Ceann Aird) and Minard (An Mhin Aird), witnesses to early Christianity.
Taking the Connor Pass road, one of Ireland's highest mountain passes, you'll reach Dingle. This small town of less than 2,000, is located in a bay under Slievanea mountain and is recognized for its music and seafood.

Day 3 - Dingle to Dunquin 14,5 miles | 23,4 km
Leave the beautiful Dingle and head west to the port of Ventry, as you tour farmland and approach a picturesque bay, one of the safest in this area of Ireland.
Arrive at Mount Slea Head, bathed by the Atlantic Ocean, and cool off in the sea at the westernmost point of Ireland and Europe, where you can also see the Blasket Islands on the high seas.
Discover the landscape adorned by the ruins of fortresses and stone huts, known as clocháns, which are believed to have been built in the Bronze Age and are a vivid heritage of Irish prehistory.
Explore Eagle Mountain, Ireland's 419th highest mountain, connecting by small hills to Mount Brandon, where you'll enjoy the panoramic view of the town of Dunquin (Dún Chaoin in Gaelic) and its pier.
The region's geography is full of amazing cliffs and islands, so we suggest adding an extra night in Dunquin and visiting by ferry the main Blasket island, Great Blasket.

Day 4 - Dunquin to Ballydavid 13,5 miles | 21,7 km
The route to Ballydavid is framed by the incredible scenery over the Atlantic Ocean. In addition, you will love the tranquillity of its solitary beaches.
Near Ballyferriter, visit Gallaraus Castle built in the 15th century and considered as an important Irish heritage location. In addition, you can get to know the small bay of Ferriter Cove, the iconic three peaks called The Three Sisters and the bay at Smerwick Harbour.
Ballydavid or Feohanagh: If there is no accommodation available in Ballydavid, you will need to walk to Feohanagh, which is 2.4 kilometres from Ballydavid. Depending on where you stay, the walking distance may vary slightly.

Day 5 - Ballydavid to Cloghane 16 miles | 25,9 km
You will get to know one of the most isolated sections of the peninsula along a path composed of quartz particles, lutites, siltstone and sandstone of various sizes, known as Old Red Sandstone. The tour, full of history, will be worth it when you enjoy the breath-taking views of Mount Brandon.
Mount Brandon is located at an altitude of 952 metres, in the centre of the Brandon Group mountain range, and is considered one of the 10 highest peaks in Ireland. Venture up this mountain, the endpoint of the Christian pilgrimage route known as Cosan na Naomh. (If you wish to reduce the number of kilometres on this stage, you can head straight to Cloghane without passing Mount Brandon.)
Discover the grassy paths, large crosses and groups of stones as you traverse the bogs and admire the views of the deep runs – valleys formed by glacial erosion – and paternoster lakes – glacial lakes – at Mount Brandon, before reaching the quiet village of Cloghane.

Travel & transfers
To arrive at the start of your journey, the best option is to fly into Kerry Airport, as it is the closest airport to your first destination. From the airport you can take the 271 or 40 bus operated by “Expressway” to Tralee, which is approximately a 30 minute journey.
From “Tralee Bus Station” you can catch the 275 bus to Annascaul, your starting destination. The company operating this route is “Bus Eireaan”
At the end of your journey in Cloghane, you can always take bus 279, operated by “Local Link Kerry”, to Tralee and from there to the airport from where you return.

Is luggage transfer included? What are the luggage requirements?
Absolutely! Each traveller has included 1 piece of luggage that we will transfer between your accommodations. It's important that this piece of luggage meets the following criterias:
- Maximum weight of 45 lbs (20 kg).
- Must be only 1 piece of luggage without any attachments or accessories.
- Should not contain valuables, fragile items, food or medications.
- Must be correctly identified (booking reference of your trip and the full name of the trip holder).
What should my physical preparation be?
This route is classified as moderate. On most days there are walks of 6 to 8 hours and sometimes there are some more crowded sections where you should take care with traffic.
The altitude on the routes along the Dingle Way ranges from 350 to 650 metres, making it a relatively simple route for experienced walkers.
What is the best time of year to travel?
You can complete the route from March to October. Between April and May is the most popular time, due to the good weather. If you start the route in early October, you can enjoy the Dingle Food Festival over four days.
Ireland's climate is mainly influenced by the Atlantic Ocean, as a result, it has no extreme temperatures as found in other countries of similar latitudes. The average temperature in Ireland is around 10ºC.
The summer months are high season, thanks to long sunny afternoons, outdoor lunches on cafe terraces or recurring festivals. In spring, the flowering season is spectacular and in autumn you will love the copper-coloured leaves that envelop the peninsula.
How far in advance should I book my trip?
