Day 1 - Arrival in Bonassola

Start this restful holiday in Bonassola, a charming village located between the mountains and the sea. You can reach it from Genoa, Pisa or Florence airports.

You are 10 minutes by train from Cinque Terre and 15 minutes by bike from Levanto, along the beautiful coastal path.

Day 2 - Enjoy your day in Monterosso 7 miles I 11 km

Start the journey over the old railway tracks that have been transformed to provide a uniform path for walkers.

Along the way, you will encounter tunnels, bridges, and cross a steep coast to the interior of the Levanto Valley. If you wish, from here you can shorten your walk, taking a train to Monterosso.

Arriving at the highest point on this walk, enjoy the views towards "Paradise Gulf". On the descent, the landscape will be covered with olive groves and vineyards to Monterosso.

Day 3 - Enjoy your day in Manarola and Corniglia 4 miles I 7 km

To start today's journey with a train trip to Manarola, do not forget to take your Cinque Terre train pass.

From Manarola you will start a walk to Corniglia, a route that will show you all the splendour of this region. The return to Monterosso will be made by train.

Day 4 - Enjoy your day in Vernazza 5 miles I 8 km

Head to Corniglia by train or walk, if you prefer. Once there, you will start a tour with ascents and descents to Vernazza, the town where you will get more out of your camera.

Enjoy the beach and the port in this fishing area, find out about its history and tourist attractions such as the Belforte Tower, built in the 11th century and Doria Castle.

Walk back to Monterosso, where you will have a free afternoon to get to know the village

Travel & transfers

The best way to get to Camogli is to fly to Genoa airport (GOA), as it is the nearest one.

From the airport, you will be able to take directly the regional train “Veloce 12321” until the stop “Bonassola”.

Your holiday will end in Monterosso. From its central station, you can take a train back to Genoa via Levanto; or back to Pisa or Florence via La Spezia.

If you prefer, you can arrange a private transfer, for an additional charge on your booking.

Is luggage transfer included? What are the luggage requirements?

Absolutely! Each traveller has included 1 piece of luggage that we will transfer between your accommodations. It's important that this piece of luggage meets the following criterias:

Maximum weight of 45 lbs (20 kg).
Must be only 1 piece of luggage without any attachments or accessories.
Should not contain valuables, fragile items, food or medications.
Must be correctly identified (booking reference of your trip and the full name of the trip holder).

The approximate luggage delivery time will be at 4:00 PM.

How soon should I book my trip?

Cinque Terre is one of the most popular destinations in Italy, so we recommend you make your reservation as soon as you take the decision to do the trip. This way you will have a better option to travel on the stipulated dates.

What is the best time to do this route?

This trip is available from April to October. The spring months between April and June offer warm weather and fewer travellers. In the autumn months (September and October), you will find a cooler climate and a landscape with autumn colours. The months of July and August can be much hotter for walking. If you travel during these months, we recommend starting your journeys very early, in order to avoid the midday sun.

What should my physical preparation be?

To get the most out of this trip, you need to be fit and lead an active life, so that you feel comfortable walking on terrain with plenty of ascents and descents. Keep in mind that this tour may not be appropriate for people who aren't used to walking or who suffer from dizziness.

What kind of equipment do I need?

Comfortable walking shoes and clothing, along with sunscreen that should never be lacking. According to the time of year you travel, wear a waterproof and windproof jacket and trousers.
