Day 1 - Arrival in Oviedo
You can start this route by arriving at Asturias Airport, then take a train to Oviedo.

Oviedo is the capital of the Principality of Asturias, where you will find pre-Romanesque buildings and you can get to know tourist sites such as the Plaza de Alfonso II, the Museum of Fine Arts and the church of San Julian de los Prados.

Day 2 - Oviedo to Grado 16 miles | 25 km
You will leave Oviedo to start a walk through the valley until you reach the village of Sama de Grado, whose most prominent monument is the Church of San Esteban de Sama de Grado.

This day's walk starts in Grado and continues through the Cantabrian mountain range, which runs parallel to the Cantabrian Sea. The route ends with a descent to Salas, one of the best preserved medieval villas in Asturias.

Day 4 - Salas to Tineo 12 miles | 19 km
Start an ascent that will take you along the La Espina path, to the parish and town that bear the same name.

The walk ends in Tineo, the second largest council in Asturias, with a great historical and cultural legacy. Here you will find the Museum of Sacred Art, unique in Asturias, and the Monastery of Obona.

Day 5 - Tineo to Pola de Allande 17 miles | 28 km
Today the stage takes place through a mountainous and somewhat difficult terrain. We will pass through green forests and cross the charming village of Vega de Rey. Towards the end of the stage we will descend 300 metres until we reach Pola de Allende.

Day 6 - Pola de Allande to Berducedo 11 miles | 17 km
This stage begins with quite a difficult ascent of about 600 metres to the summit of Puerto de Palo. Panoramic views over the Cantabrian mountain landscape will be the reward of our effort. 

Then we will descend 250 metres along the 'Camino de los Hospitales', a path that will accompany us through quiet forests to Berducedo.

The house was built in 1600 and was renovated maintaining its original structure, which is made of stone both inside and out. Right next door is a bar, sheltered by a traditional granary, with a large terrace and green areas.

Day 7 - Berducedo to Grandas de Salime 12 miles | 20 km
On the transfer to the Camino Real de la Mesa you will enjoy beautiful panoramic views of deep valleys.

The walk today will be an ascent to Grandas de Salime, where you can get to know the Church of San Salvador, built in the 13th century, The Ethnographic Museum and the House of the Robledo family.

Day 8 - Grandas de Salime to Fonsagrada 16 miles | 26 km
A steep ascent will take you to Fonsagrada, the beginning of the Camino Primitivo in Galicia. Its name is due to the fountain that is located in the town centre, the Fons Sacrata, where legend tells that Santiago the Apostle performed the miracle of turning water into milk.

The walk through the Galician mountains will take you through small villages to Montouto, one of the most traditional villages on the Camino Primitivo, belonging to the Parish of Padron.

The road will end in O Cadavo, in the Baleira Council district.
