The first day begins in Begur, a charming village perched on top of a hill, away from the hustle and bustle of the Costa Brava's tourist centres. Here, among narrow streets and façades steeped in history, the essence of the Mediterranean unfolds with a serene and unique character.

Stroll along its cobbled streets, flanked by old fishermen's houses and buildings that show colonial, Moorish and Spanish influences. Let the village's leisurely atmosphere envelop you as you climb up to the 10th-century medieval castle, whose silhouette dominates Begur from above. From its fortified ruins, you can enjoy panoramic views stretching from the deep blue Mediterranean to the gentle rolling hills inland.

Upon arrival at Girona Airport, Girona city centre or Figueres Vilafant train station, you will be transferred to Begur, where you will spend the night.

The second day will take you to the peaceful Catalan countryside, where rural paths wind through scattered neighbourhoods, fragrant fields and gentle slopes that herald the proximity of the sea. It is a serene walk, marked by the leisurely pace of nature and the distant sound of waves accompanying each step.

As you progress, the landscape opens up to reveal Sa Tuna, a small, charming seaside spot that seems frozen in time. It is the perfect place to take a break, enjoy a simple lunch and savour a refreshing glass of red wine with views of the Mediterranean.

The path continues to Cala d'Aiguafreda, a narrow natural refuge nestled in a bay of calm waters and surrounded by an amphitheatre of pine trees that perfume the air. The contrast between the intense green of the forest and the bright blue of the sea makes this corner a small hidden paradise.

As the sun begins to set, return to Begur and let the golden afternoon light accompany the end of a gentle, Mediterranean and deeply comforting day.

Leaving Begur behind, the trail descends through pine forests that release their fresh scent when touched by the sea breeze. Little by little, the murmur of the forest mixes with the sound of the Mediterranean, announcing your arrival at the coast.

When you reach Aiguablava, one of the most beautiful spots in the area, you will rejoin the path that skirts the coast and continues along cliffs, coves and natural viewpoints to the small, charming village of Tamariu. Its turquoise waters, fine sandy beach and relaxed atmosphere make it the perfect place for a quick dip.

From there, the path momentarily moves away from the sea and heads back into the hills, offering sweeping views and Mediterranean tranquillity. Finally, a gentle descent leads you to Llafranc, a bright white town that attracted artists, writers and film stars, including Salvador Dalí, during the 20th century. Its elegant and discreet atmosphere still retains that creative and coastal spirit.

Note: On one of the coastal sections, you will have to navigate around some rocks and boulders at sea level. If you prefer to avoid this, there is always a more comfortable and accessible alternative route.

The landscape changes gently, the roads become more rural, the hills undulate between vineyards and olive groves, and the air takes on a more serene character. On this journey into the heart of the region, the historic village of Palafrugell is particularly worth a visit, with its charm lying in its authenticity and the everyday life that pulsates through every street. If you visit, bear in mind that everything is closed on Mondays, so you can stroll along its ancient walls and lose yourself in its peaceful squares.

After this break full of local flavour, the route continues towards the sea, gradually returning to the blue Mediterranean. The day ends in Calella de Palafrugell, a coastal town with white houses and a seafaring spirit. Its coves, walkways and intimate corners are the ideal setting to end the day calmly and let yourself be enveloped by the purest essence of the Costa Brava.

As you progress, the trail moves away from the coastline and ascends inland, revealing an unexpected contrast. The hills are covered with pine, olive and oak trees that perfume the air with an earthy, Mediterranean aroma. This quieter, wilder stretch allows you to appreciate the diversity of the Catalan landscape: a perfect balance between forest, mountains and coast.

Gradually, the vegetation opens up and the blue reappears on the horizon. The path descends gently to La Fosca beach, where the coast welcomes you back with its luminous warmth.

The last day of the route takes you to Palamós, following the historic Camino de Ronda, a path that winds along the sea and was used for centuries by smugglers who travelled the coast in the dim light of dawn. With the sparkling sea stretching out to your left and pine-covered hills rising to your right, you walk along stretches that combine cliffs, stairways carved into the rock and hidden coves. The murmur of the waves accompanies you as you approach S'Agaró, a destination that stands out for its elegance and cinematic air.

This enclave, considered one of the most glamorous on the Costa Brava, gained fame thanks to the Hollywood stars who made it their refuge during the golden age of cinema. Its harmonious buildings, impeccable promenade, luminous beaches and excellent cuisine create a refined and welcoming atmosphere.
