Day 1 - Arrival in Spoleto
The first day begins in Spoleto, a city located 385 metres above sea level in the foothills of the Apennine Mountains. It is a tourist centre and is the annual venue for the Festival of Two Worlds (Festival dei Due Mondi), organised since 1958.

Day 2 - Spoleto to Poreta 9,3 miles | 15 km
In the morning, you will begin your day by following the historic Way of St. Francis, an ancient pilgrimage route connecting Florence with Rome and passing through some of the most representative landscapes of the saint's life.
From Spoleto, you will walk along gentle rural paths among centuries-old olive groves and meadows dotted with wildflowers, enjoying the tranquillity of the Umbrian countryside. The route will take you through Monte Giove and, further on, you will cross a wooded area that offers shade and a cooler atmosphere, ideal for a break along the way.

The trail runs alongside the river for a stretch, offering a peaceful walk, before heading inland along rural paths through vineyards and olive groves. In the distance, the Apennines loom on the horizon, and soon you will be able to make out the silhouettes of Spello and Assisi perched on the hills.

Is luggage transfer included? What are the luggage requirements?
Absolutely! Each traveller has included 1 piece of luggage that we will transfer between your accommodations. It's important that this piece of luggage meets the following criterias:

- Must be only 1 piece of luggage without any attachments or accessories.

What is the best time of year to do this trip?
Springtime and the months of April, May, and June are absolutely enchanting. Autumn is a perfect time of year thanks to its mild temperatures, making September and October unmissable. July and August can get very hot, so we recommend starting your walks early to avoid the heat of the day. Please note that before Easter and at the end of October, some local shops and restaurants may have reduced opening hours or be closed for the winter.

What should my physical preparation be?
This route is of medium-low difficulty, making it ideal for people looking for 4 to 6 hours of walking per day with climbs that can be steeper and longer. You do not need to have hiking experience, however, it is recommended that you are in good physical condition and in good health. Some sections of the walk have uneven terrain, including rocky areas.
