    Travel & Transfers

    To reach the starting point of this walking holiday, we recommend the following options:

    The first is to get to Manchester Airport and then transfer to St. Bees by train (approximately 4 hours).

    The second is to get to Newcastle Airport and take a train to St. Bees (approximately 4 hours).

    The third option is to travel to one of London's airports and from there take a train to St. Bees.

    When you finish your journey, you have three options from Kirkby Stephen:

    The first is to head by train, via Carlisle, to Manchester Airport.

    The second is to go by bus and train to Newcastle Airport.

    The third option is to take a train to one of London's airports.

    We recommend that you book as soon as you are sure about your dates, as accommodation can fill up very quickly in this area. 

    We recommend you take this walking holiday between the end of March and October.

    In particular, between April and May it can be a good time to travel, as the climate is quite pleasant.

    This route has a medium-high level of difficulty, so it is recommended that you have experience in long-distance walks and that you are in good physical condition to make the most of this walking holiday.
