    Travel & Transfers

    To get to the starting point of this walking holiday along The West Highland Way, we recommend the following options:

    The first is to get to Glasgow Airport and then transfer to Milngavie by bus or train.

    The second is to get to Prestwick Airport, take a train to Glasgow (50 minutes) and from there head by bus or train to Milngavie.

    The third option is to travel to Edinburgh Airport, from there take a bus to Glasgow (1 hour) and then head by bus or train to Milngavie.

    When you've finished your trip, you can head from Fort William by train to Glasgow (3h 45m) to take your flight to your home city.


    We recommend you take this walking holiday between the end of March and October.

    In particular, May can be a good time to travel, as there are not many midges (mosquitoes) just yet.

    We recommend that you book as soon as you are sure about your dates, as accommodation can fill up very quickly in this area. 

    Although this route has a low difficulty level, every day you will walk between 4 and 6 hours on undulating terrain, so it is advisable that you are in good physical condition to make the most of this walking route.
