Overview

Your holiday starts at the glacial Lake Bled, where you will begin the ascent for your high mountain route through the beautiful Triglav National Park, which stretches across the eastern part of the Julian Alps.

This tour will surprise you with beautiful crystal clear waters, alpine meadows and colourful wooded trails, at heights of up to 2,500 metres.

You will walk under the summit of Triglav, slovenia's highest peak, the Valley of the Lakes, the Karawanken limestone mountain range and Lake Zeleno Jezero.

    General information

    The accommodation with which we collaborate is carefully selected by our team to ensure that you have an unforgettable experience throughout your trip.

    For this walking route, we have chosen comfortable hotels for the first and last night to guarantee peace of mind, rest and enjoyment.

    For your other nights, we have selected mountain huts, which will allow you to discover culture and enjoy the hospitality in these traditional lodgings.

    Due to the location and limited capacity of the huts, we recommend that you confirm your booking with us as soon as possible. We will let you know the name of each accommodation thirty days before the start of your trip.

    Room types

    For the first and last night's accommodation, your booking will be in private rooms with en-suite bathrooms.

    In the huts, on the other hand, rooms are generally shared and mixed.

    Travel & Transfers

    To start your holiday, we recommend flying to Ljubljana Airport, to which several low-cost airlines fly. From there you can take a taxi or private transfer to Bled. Another option will be to take a bus to Ljubljana, where you take the connection on to Bled.

    At the end of the route, you can head to Ljubljana Airport, taking a bus, taxi or private transfer.

    FAQs

    The best time to complete this route is summer (between June and September), when you have a good climate and the highest alpine trails are clear of snow.

    This route has a level of medium-high difficulty, with walks between 7 and 18.5 km, it has steep and bordered ascents and descents, so you must have walking experience and be in good physical condition.

    Once you make your reservation we will send you all the detailed information about the specific equipment you need for this route, considering recommendations for shoes, boots, clothes and a day-to day backpack.

    Baggage transfer will only be available on days 2 and 6, as due to the remote location of most of the accommodation (huts) it will not be feasible to offer daily baggage transfer. For this reason, you should carry a backpack with everything you need for each day.

    If you prefer, you can also use public transport or local taxis to get to your next accommodation.
