Day 1 - Arrival in Bowness-on-Solway

Day 2 - Bowness-on-Solway to Carlisle 15,2 miles | 24,5 km
Once in Carlisle, you'll be able to see the castle, which is in very good condition, and see centuries-old antiques. Carlisle combines heritage, culture and local life in a vibrant and accessible setting. Here you can visit its imposing medieval castle, explore the Tullie House Museum or simply stroll through its historic streets.

You will pass through Harlow Hill, a small picturesque village that lines the old wall and still retains the outline of a Roman military road.
Newburn: In case there is no accommodation available in Heddon, you will need to head to Newburn, a town 4.8 kilometres from Heddon. Please note that if you are staying in Newburn, the next day's journey will be reduced.

Day 6 - Heddon to Newcastle 10,8 miles | 17,4 km
The walk follows the River Tyne, which flows to the sea at the junction of the South Tyne and North Tyne. The trail will take you through tranquil natural surroundings and riverside paths, where the sound of the water and the movement of the river accompany you along the way.
