This charming route will take you through the Luberon Natural Park, an area of 165,000 hectares located between the departments of Vaucluse and the Haute Provence Alps. It is composed of three incredible mountain ranges: Lesser Luberon, Greater Luberon and Eastern Luberon.

The region is characterized by villages in the hills, beautiful views of the valleys, and lavender fields, which have served as inspiration for several generations of artists from the 14th century to the present day.

You will start this route in the village of St-Saturnin, continue south and reach Roussillon. Through vineyards and olive groves, you will find Les Imberts and Gordes, whose incredible architecture will dazzle you. Finally, you get to know Fontaine-de-Vaucluse before you reach the Vaucluse plateau, the last stop of this tour.

  • Encounter beautiful villages and enjoy the incredible scenery of the Luberon.
  • You'll have stunning views of Mont Ventoux and Dentelles de Montmirail.
  • Delight in regional cuisine and wines.

    FAQs

The Haute-Provence Alps is a region with a temperate Mediterranean climate, with very hot summers and relatively mild winters.

The best time for this tour is from mid-spring to late summer, between April and September, when the air is fresh and the temperature is pleasant.

Please note that from early July to the end of September, local firefighters restrict access to forest areas after midday, so if you decide to travel during these months you should start your walks as early as possible.

In addition, in September it is hunting time in Provence, so we recommend wearing reflective clothing for walks among the forests. However, we can offer alternative routes.

We recommend that you book as soon as you are sure about your dates, as accommodation can fill up very quickly in this area.

The route is classified as of medium-low difficulty, so your physical preparation should be adapted to walks along long paths with some rocky stretches.

On the route, there are some ascents and descents, as well as sections with unstable terrain, so good walking shoes are essential.

Once you make your reservation we will send you all the detailed information about the specific equipment you need for this route, considering recommendations for shoes, boots, clothes and a day-to day backpack.

Yes, it's included. We will transfer the luggage between each accommodation according to your itinerary. Each person can take a suitcase up to 20 kg (45 lbs).

This route is ideal for lovers of flora and fauna. If you like art and history, you will also enjoy discovering historical villages.

We advise you to travel with your partner, to enjoy the delicious local wines and the romantic landscape of Provence.
