Arrive in the magnificent village of Torfhaus, the starting point of your spectacular journey through this region in Germany. This was one of the places that was most frequented by the famous poet Goethe, a fundamental contributor to Romanticism.

Day 2 - Torfhaus to Schierke 12,4 miles | 20 km
Today you will start it with a challenging walk to one of the most spectacular points of this trip, the imposing Brocken Mountain. Every step you take will be filled with mysticism and stories about magic, witches and apparitions.
Even the poet Goethe spoke about this path in his famous work “Faust”, as at the top at 1,141 metres, witches from all over Europe are said to have gathered. From there, you will have the opportunity to delight in the fantastic and unforgettable panoramas of this great tour, without a doubt.
Then continue your way to Drei Annen Hohne and on a transfer included on the old Brockenbahn steam train, you will reach the amazing village of Schierke where your next accommodation is located.

Day 3 - Schierke to Neuwerk 11,1 miles | 18 km
You will start the day with an included transfer on the Brockenbahn steam train. It will take you from Schierke to Drei Annen Hohne.
Once there, you will walk through lush forests and then admire the amazing rock formations. Further on, you'll come to the attractive Königshütte waterfall, a 16-metre high artificial waterfall created in 1994.
You will enjoy a pleasant walk along a path with views of endless trees and along mysterious trails that will lead you to Neuwerk, a small and cosy village.

This day is one of the most awaited days of the trip, as you will walk the last stage of the Harz Witches' Trail. Get ready for an enchanting and magical hike.
This tour will be guided by signs of the witch on her broom. Enter a quiet path between forests until you encounter the Rappbodetalsperre, the longest suspension bridge in the world with a length of 453 metres, not suitable for people with vertigo.
Go on your way and enjoy the swamps and shadows that will make you feel like you are part of a fairy tale.
You will arrive in Thale by a self-drive transfer from Rosstrappe. Once in Thale, you will take a train on your own to Quedlinburg, an amazing village on the river Bode, which was also declared a Unesco World Heritage Site because of its unique and intact medieval architecture and more than 1,200 typical half-timbered houses.
