Day 1 - Arrival in Brodick
We recommend flying to Prestwick Airport, where you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal in Ardrossan. You can also travel from Glasgow to Ardrossan by train, by transfer in Kilwinning.
The first place you'll find on your ferry ride will be Brodick, the largest village on Arran.
You can enjoy this day doing outdoor activities such as fishing, cycling and climbing, or getting to know the city and its history at the Isle of Arran Heritage Museum.

Day 2 - Brodick to Corrie 8,1 miles I 13,1 km
On the first stage of this route along the Arran coast, you'll head to the top of the island's highest peak, Goat Fell.
This mountain will allow you to reach a height of 874 metres (2,866 feet). Although the climb is a challenging one, it will be well worth the effort when you reach the summit of Goat Fell, from where you'll be treated to the most beautiful views of the hills and the sea. On a clear day, it's even possible to see the Irish coastline.
During your walk, you will be able to appreciate the varied fauna and flora of the region, where you may be able to spot red deer, tiger beetles and some bird species.
Your walk will end in the picturesque coastal village of Corrie.

Day 3 - Corrie to Lochranza 11,3 miles I 18,3 km
Today you will start the day leaving the pretty village of Corrie behind and head towards Lochranza.
This walk will take you along the east coast of the Isle of Arran. On the way, you will pass through the village of Sannox, famous for its beautiful beach surrounded by hills and cliffs.
Afterwards, you will reach Fallen Rocks, a place with giant boulders that fell from the cliffs to the shore. Later, you will come across a charming white cottage at Laggan (Laggan Cottage).
Continue along the coast to Lochranza, a village known for its castle, whisky distillery and the natural wealth that surrounds it.

Day 4 - Lochranza to Blackwaterfoot 9,3 miles I 15 km
Today's tour will take you to the northwest and west end of the Isle of Arran.
You'll start the day by leaving Lochranza and heading to Catacol Bay, a small rocky bay, and from here you'll follow the coastal path to Pirnmill village. From here you will follow the coastal path, which will take you to the village of Pirnmill, the ideal destination to take a break and enjoy the wonderful scenery around the area.
You will continue along the west coast until you reach Imachar. Once there, you will have to travel by bus on your own to Blackwaterfoot.
You'll start the day by leaving Lochranza and heading to Catacol Bay, a small rocky bay, and from here you'll follow the coastal path to Pirnmill village. Day 5 - Enjoy your day around Blackwaterfoot 10,7 miles I 17,3 km
You will start the day by taking a self-drive bus from Blackwaterfoot to Imachar.
The first stop on this coastal walk will be at the Auchagallon stone circle in Machrie Bay, which dates back to 2000 BC. This archaeological site dates back to 2000 BC, with 15 standing stones surrounding a mound.
After a series of climbs and descents, you will reach the King's Cave, a site that served as inspiration and refuge for King Robert the Bruce. From there, you will continue your journey back to Blackwaterfoot.

Day 6 - Blackwaterfoot to Lagg 6,8 miles I 11 km
The route between Blackwaterfoot and Lagg will take you through some of the most challenging terrain on the entire trip. The first part of the stage heads towards Preaching Cave, a crypt that was used as a parish school and sermon venue between the 17th and 19th centuries. You will need to be careful on this section, as the path is rocky and boggy.
After Preaching Cave, you will climb up to the main A841 road, which will lead you to Lagg Distillery and the village of Lagg.

Day 7 - Lagg to Whiting Bay 12 miles I 20 km
Today you will walk along a long undulating path towards Bennan Head, a promontory at the southern tip of the Isle of Arran in North Ayrshire. From here, it is possible to see the islands of Pladda and Ailsa Craig.
The final section of the walk leads through woodland to Glenashdale Falls, a double waterfall, 45 metres in height (140 feet), also known as Eas a' Chrannaig in Gaelic. You'll finish your journey in the village of Whiting Bay, the third largest town on the island after Lamlash and Brodick.

Day 8 - Whiting Bay to Brodick 11,2 miles I 18,1 km
This is the last day of your Arran Coast Walking Route. You will follow the eastern coastline for the entire route. You will pass along asphalted roads and quiet country lanes until you reach Brodick.
The final section of the walk will take you to Kingscross Point, from where you will have spectacular views of Holy Isle. Continue to Lamlash, one of the prettiest villages on the island, and the bay of the same name with its marine conservation area, the 'No Take Zone'. Later, you will reach Clauchlands Point, the ideal place to view Goat Fell Mountain.
You will continue along the coast until you reach the village of Brodick, the town where you began your journey.
