You will start your holiday by taking a ferry to Brodick, located in the centre of the island. The following days you will meet up with Sannox, Goat Fell Peak, Brodick Castle and King's Cave.

Day 1 - Arrival in Brodick
We recommend flying to Prestwick Airport, where you can take a taxi to the ferry terminal in Ardrossan. You can also travel from Glasgow to Ardrossan by train, by transfer in Kilwinning.
The first place you'll find on your ferry ride will be Brodick, the largest village on Arran.
You can enjoy this day doing outdoor activities such as fishing, cycling and climbing, or getting to know the city and its history at the Isle of Arran Heritage Museum.

Day 2 - Brodick to Lochranza 20 miles I 32 km
On the first stage of this route along the Arran coast, you will head for the top of the island's highest peak, Goat Fell.
The mountain will allow you to reach a height of 874 metres (2866 feet). Although the climb is challenging, the effort will be worth it when you reach the top, where you'll get the most beautiful views of the hills and the sea. On a clear day, it is even possible to see the coastline of Ireland.
During the tour you will be able to appreciate the varied fauna and flora of the region, where it is possible to spot red deer, tiger beetles and some species of birds.
At Corrie, the route continues along the coast and against a mountain backdrop through Sannox and Fallen Rocks to Lochranza, famous for its castle, whisky distillery and the natural wealth that surrounds it.
Corrie: If there is no accommodation available in Lochranza, you will be accommodated here. We will make arrangements for you to have the necessary transfers between the locations.

Butt Lodge
Butt Lodge is a former Victorian shooting lodge that now provides luxurious bed and breakfast accommodation. The residence is situated on two acres of private land with panoramic views overlooking Lochranza golf course, the castle, and Kilbrannan Sound. All rooms have been fully renovated and feature TV, a tea and coffee tray, and modern shower rooms.

Day 3 - Lochranza to Blackwaterfoot 19,5 miles I 31,4 km
Today's tour will take you to the northwest and west end of the Isle of Arran.
You will start the day by leaving Lochranza and heading towards Catacol Bay, a small rocky bay. From here you will follow the coastal path, which will take you to the small village of Pirnmill, the ideal destination to take a break and enjoy the wonderful scenery around the area.
Continue along the west coast towards Machrie Moor, a historic complex that includes six stone circles, monoliths and cist tombs. If you wish, you can shorten this stage by taking a bus from Machrie to Blackwaterfoot.
You will finish your journey in the village of Blackwaterfoot, located in the Shiskine Valley in the southwest of the island.
Ascent: 340m (1,115ft) / Descent: 336m (1,102ft)

Day 4 - Blackwaterfoot to Whiting Bay 20,5 miles I 33 km
The route between Blackwaterfoot and Lagg will take you through some of the most challenging terrain of the entire trip. The first part of the stage heads towards Preaching Cave, a crypt that served as a parish school and sermon venue between the 17th and 19th centuries. You will need to be careful on this section as the path is rocky and boggy.
On the second part of the route, after passing the cave, you will climb up to the asphalt road A841, which will lead you to the village of Lagg and the distillery of the same name, built in 2017.
You will continue along a long undulating path towards Bennan Head, a promontory at the southern tip of the Isle of Arran in North Ayrshire. From here, it is possible to see the islands of Pladda and Ailsa Craig.
The final section of the walk leads through the forest to Glenashdale Falls. You'll finish in the village of Whiting Bay, the third largest town on the island after Lamlash and Brodick.
Ascent: 612m (207ft) / Descent: 618m (2,027ft)

Day 5 - Whiting Bay to Brodick 11,2 miles I 18,1 km
This is the last day of the Arran Coastal Walking Route. You will follow the east coast line all the way along the route. You will pass along tarmac roads and quiet country lanes until you reach Brodick.
The final section of the walk will take you to Kingscross Point, from where you will have spectacular views of Holy Isle. You will proceed to Lamlash, one of the prettiest villages on the island, and the bay of the same name with its maritime conservation area, the 'No Take Zone'. Later, you will reach Clauchlands Point, the ideal place to view Goat Fell Mountain.
You will continue along the coast until you reach the village of Brodick, the village where you started your journey.
Ascent: 309m (1,013ft) / Descent: 308m (1,010ft)
The final section of the walk will take you to Kingscross Point, from where you will have spectacular views of Holy Isle. The summer months are the busiest and most popular months for this tour along the coast of the Isle of Arran, thanks to the warmer temperatures and less chance of rain. However, be aware that rainfall can occur at any time of the year.
