Day 6 - Enjoy your day in Trevelez 7,5 miles | 12 km
Trevelez Valley Walk
This round trip offers you excellent mountain views as you travel, far above the village, a route next to the River Trevelez, which flows all year round because of the melted snow from the Sierra Nevada. In the evening, enjoy dinner at your hotel and you may be encouraged to try some of the fresh local trout.
Siete Lagunas Circuit (A Challenging Option)
Alternatively, for those who still feel energetic or want to be challenged and rewarded in equal measure, we suggest doing the Siete Lagunas circuit. This walk is recommended only for experienced walkers, as there are about 1,400 metres of combined ascent/descent until reaching the impressive Siete Lagunas.
There is also the factor of having to move with effort and take into account the altitude, as you will reach a height of 2,900 metres. This walk is not suitable during periods of bad weather, heavy rain or low visibility. If you complete the walk in spring/autumn, you may find some snow.

FAQs
Is luggage transfer included? What are the luggage requirements?
Absolutely! Each traveller has included 1 piece of luggage that we will transfer between your accommodations. It's important that this piece of luggage meets the following criterias:
- Maximum weight of 45 lbs (20 kg).
- Must be only 1 piece of luggage without any attachments or accessories.
- Should not contain valuables, fragile items, food or medications.
- Must be correctly identified (booking reference of your trip and the full name of the trip holder).
How far in advance should I book my trip?
We suggest you make your reservation as soon as possible, as soon as you have decided your travel dates, as this destination is extremely popular and accommodation sells out quickly.
How should my physical preparation be?
This route has a moderate to strenuous level of difficulty. The walks last between 3 and 8 hours, between 10 and 17 kilometres long and are travelled through mountainous terrain, and on a mixture of unpaved roads, animal trails and, in some sectors, pavement or smaller asphalted roads.
Part of the terrain is quite rocky and, in the wet season, you may encounter loose rocks or muddy stretches. The ascents are between 415 and 930 metres and with descents of up to 870 metres.
During the summer months (June to September), walking can be more difficult because at that time, the highest temperatures of the year are recorded, so we recommend departing early on those days.
What is the best time of year to travel on this route?
You can start this tour any day between March and June (subject to availability), and then again from September to November. The spring months of March and April are fantastic if you want to see bird migration in full swing and a profusion of flowers in bloom.
Temperatures start to rise in May and June and the slopes are full of colourful butterflies and bee-eating birds. We do not offer this tour in July and August, as the temperatures are very high and prevent you from enjoying a pleasant walk.
What if I can't complete a route?
We will send you the information dossier after your reservation. This has a detailed list of equipment that includes standard walking clothing, such as good walking shoes or boots, waterproof clothing and a light backpack.
Is it suitable for lone walkers?
This holiday is available to solo walkers, but we recommend that you should be experienced, and familiar with navigational instruments, having walked before in rough and mountainous terrain and comfortable with steep ascents/descents and some slopes.
